Passion on Piano – River Flows In You

Once, my friend played ‘River Flows in you’, to me and I suddenly felt so touched and peaceful that I did not even realise my friend had already finished playing. I later checked who composed this piano piece. When I learned that Yiruma composed this music, I listened to all of his compositions which includes ‘Kiss the rain’ and ‘If I Could See You Again’. All of his pieces deeply touched my heart so much.

I love his all the compositions but ‘River Flows in you’ is my favourite one. It is also the most popular piece in the ‘First Love’ album. This album was released in 2001.

I remembered that I listened this piano piece repeatedly, and then I promised myself that I had to learn how to play it. I found the piano sheet online, and printed it out to practice.

After few weeks, I could play it completely. This piano piece means a lot to me, it is soothing and most importantly, brings me peace. Whenever I feel hopeless or sad, it can always make me feel that everything will be fine. I think this is also the reason why I wanted to learn how to play it.

This version was the first time I recorded myself. Even though it is not my perfect version it can prove the progress of my piano skill.

Parachuting at Banbury!

If you are keen on parachuting, you must not miss Banbury! Maybe you’ve never heard about the town, but it has different beautiful sceneries. Even though there are a lot of places and buildings being redeveloped, it still has a lot of special things, such as old alleys and quiet corners. If you are living in a busy city, I would say that Banbury is a good place to relax.

As a big fan of parachuting, I really like this town because you have a chance to enjoy the most beautiful scenery from up high, and have extremely different feelings.

If you enjoy parachuting and want to have the unique experience in the UK, I think you really can go to Banbury, I believe you will enjoy it. Hinton Skydiving Centre is very popular and the trainers are very professional and friendly!

When I went parachuting, I felt so excited and I would say that it was one of my best experiences. My trainer was very good at teaching me and mentioned what I should do with care. He really gave me a good skydiving lesson. I was so happy I came to Hinton.

I enjoyed the moment I jumped from a plane, and I felt 100% free. There was nothing I needed to worry about. I just wanted to enjoy that moment and to feel the world.

After landing, I felt the world was more big and beautiful than I thought. I enjoy skydiving because it lets me feel more about the world.

Losing Weight: The Misconception of Calories

Is it really useful, for people who want to lose weight, to calculate calories (Kcal)? Some people say that the body is like a boat which follows the law of thermodynamics: calories in, calories out.

“Increased weight is because the intake of calories is greater than the losses. If you want to lose weight, then you have to eat less and exercise more”

Eating salad without 2 teaspoons of olive oil can reduce up to 230 Kcal consumed.

So in two weeks, you should be able to lose 1 pound, and in a year, 25 pounds right?

But… this usually never happens.

Barry Popkin and Kiyah Duffey, from the University of North Carolina, found that people have (on average) increased daily calorie consumption by 570Kcal between 1977 and 2006.

1 pound of fat equals 3500 Kcal, if you ate 570 Kcal every day, then from 2006 to the present, the average person should have gained 476 pounds!

Is this because our exercise has also increased?

Consider another calculation. In order to avoid the increase of 476 pounds, people would have needed to run 1.5 hours every day. Is this possible?

Therefore, the human body is not a result of a mathematical formula. The weight of the body is the result of self-balance.

No wonder this method of weight loss has a 95.4% fail rate!

Therefore, calories don’t mean as much as people think they do in determining weight loss.
